The crew of the Invictus had just escaped the Devourer, only to be captured by a stunningly beautiful woman, Cassiope, and brought aboard her shuttle. Everyone was under her power of seduction and clamoring to do her beck and call. However, before she had a chance to get us off Absalom Station, another woman stepped in front of the shuttle preventing our departure and let forth a volley of curses in our direction. This unknown woman was mad that the Invictus crew had not listened and went to Absalom Station against direct orders.
In addition to coping with being under Cassiope's spell, all of the crew were pretty injured. Especially Tybar, who had been injected with something during the last battle. As they tried to heal him, a worm crawled out of his arm and morphed into a large, formidable creature. Ash tried to kill it using her newly acquired Angry Cricket gun, but with zero practice, she just ended up blowing holes into the shuttle.
Goblina tried to take on Cassiope, but was too enamored with her to as well. She hoped Cherry would save the day, but Cherry perched upon Cassiope's shoulder as Goblina called out "Traitor!" Chanterelle goes to attack with her mind thrust right as the mysterious woman boards the ship and ends up killing her. Chanterelle is also infected with the worm larva, but she opts to just tear off her arm. In the distance, a disembodied voice calls out for the crew to surrender Tybar, and if they do so, he will provide them with the antidote for the worms.
Goblina and Ash did not take kindly to his threatening of Tybar and ran to dispose of the threat. In doing so, Ash set off an implosion with her Angry Cricket. Goblina and Ash were covered in debris. Tybar and Bubblegum ran to save them from their stupidity. At this point, Cassiope had a breakdown. This was supposed to a rescue mission. And the crew had destroyed her shuttle, Chanty had killed an innocent woman, and all Cassiope wanted was to rescue her ex-husband's friends so that maybe he would love her again. At that point Benny showed up, the ex-husband in question. The crew was all in shock, this was the last thing they expected and it turns out, her name was Pam, not Cassiope. Unfortunately, there wasn't time to delve into this plot twist, for the crew learned that the Devourer was on the loose after the explosion to cover up the fact that they were still alive. The crew of the Invictus had only 3 hours to save the universe from total annellation. Join us next time to see if they succeed, or go down in a blaze of glory.
