N.I.K.K. had been entrapped by the Pirate Queen of the BioCybs. She had given him the ability to experience the sensation of touch. The BioCybs wanted N.I.K.K. to be their King. To spread their message using the divine Blog with N.I.K.K. as the Influencer Supreme! All N.I.K.K. had to do was install a small, tiny, little chip that would form a link within the Cooperative. N.I.K.K. took the chip and offered Reba, the Pirate Queen, a token of his affection and asked her to keep it with her always. He then asked if he could speak with the pirate crew first, before installing the chip. Reba scanned the token she was given and then they made their way up to the poop deck.
Joy had made her way over to the Pirate Pleasure Curse Ship in order to rein N.I.K.K. in. She thought that he would be too tempted by the pirate's seductive offer and wanted to get him back aboard the Invictus to make plans as a crew. However, N.I.K.K. had his own agenda and all that Joy was able to do was stomp on his foot and explain to him that having the ability to feel is not all that it is cracked up to be. Alas, before anyone could talk any sense into N.I.K.K. he had gathered all the pirates together to publicly reject Reba, destroy the chip, and cause massive chaos. N.I.K.K. spun the helm and shot the controls so no one could course correct. Typically, that seems like the best maneuver when you are about to abandon ship. However, we were out in space, not water, and the Invictus was in no shape to do a mid-space rescue. In fact, many of the crew were still aboard the Invictus trying to fix her up. Amelia Seraphine had sabotaged many of Vicky's systems and it was all hands on deck. Unbeknownst to the entire crew, Zen and her mother, Lilith Zeizerzer, were actually discussing mutiny. Well Lilith was, Zen was at least hoping to save Joy, it really was hard to find good help these days.
Joy and N.I.K.K. were left to their own devices, adrift in a very hostile environment. N.I.K.K. grabbed Joy and jumped over the side of the ship. Again, since they were out in space and not an actual water-sailing ship, they hit the protective bubble that surrounded the amusement vessel and slid down the barrier landing at the bottom with nowhere to go and no good way to be rescued. Joy called Benny to be rescued by taxi at the same time Tybar put on the Bleeding Edge Armor to attempt a rescue as well. While Joy and N.I.K.K. waited to be rescued, the Pirate Queen and two of her companions descended the side of the ship. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. The protective bubble was breached, Joy lost consciousness, and Benny's new shuttle had its door ripped off so Tybar would throw her lifeless body into it and push it back toward the Invictus. Reba, wrapped her arms around N.I.K.K. and proclaimed he wasn't going anywhere. There was a large explosion and N.I.K.K. was no more.
Aboard the Invictus, another tragedy was unfolding. Zen, in an out-of-character gesture, chose the crew of the Invictus over her mother. Instead of letting her mother take over the Invictus, she reached out and cut her own mother's throat. However, Lilith had planned for something like this. In the special comm unit she had given Zen, her voice called out, leaving her daughter one final message. The comm unit then exploded and ended the life of Zen.
