“It disturbs me no more to find men base… than to see… wolves savage…”
— Jean-Paul Sartre
The Dinner Invitation (Bread Knives)
Pixie’s father has summoned you.
But something about it feels strange.
He tells you it’s something that you must arrange.
A dinner, he claims, and your friends all welcome.
He has news he must share, and a possible outcome.
He speaks of his longing, of years that have flown,
Of meetings not had, of children now grown.
You hesitate, squirm, yet his voice turns to steel:
“It’s not a request, attend, this is something you feel.
His lieutenants will gather, the table well spread,
And you think, Just another mob war is ahead.
Perhaps he just wants you tucked safely away,
Far from the bullets that dance in the fray.
But then comes the turn, like a candle’s quick snuff,
Where he hopes his new pact with the Church is enough.
They’ve built them a team, with a purpose so dire,
And he swears he has listened to your heart’s quiet fire.
He knows where the killer of your sister now sleeps,
And he offers the chance to watch others’ eyes weep.
Bring all of your magic, your voodoo, your charms,
The kind that keeps werewolves from tearing off arms.
And lastly he whispers, with a grin most obscene,
We’ll strike a new bargain…with your Delta Green.
The Farm: (Pitchforks)
In a valley forgotten, where moonlight runs deep,
Lies a farm full of secrets, that daylight does keeps.
No tractors are humming, no children at play,
Just shadows that stretch in a lupine ballet.
Among them, a woman with wild silver hair,
Eyes bright as frost, yet a sorrowful stare.
Once feared in the cities, now quiet, serene,
She’s found with her kind in the fields of green.
But whispers still travel on the wind through the corn,
That peace here is fragile, and trouble is born.
Letters exchanged in the dead of the night,
Confessions and comforts by pale candlelight.
A wife in the moonfields, a husband unseen,
And it leaves him to wonder, the agent, Delta Green.
The conflict: (Spite)
Now two agents are in conflict, on this cold autumn night,
One seeks Mercy, the other a Fight.
This next adventure will be full of malice, it seems,
There will be an ending, but for whose hope and dreams?
DM Notes:
The game begins with the Moretti family dinner. Once the dinner concludes, the events that follow will take place immediately, with no chance to return to the bunker.
Since this is being posted several weeks in advance, any preparation you wish to make before the dinner, must be planned offline and in advance.
There are no clear heroes, nor villains in this story.
There is no right answer, just choices and consequences.
