The Rundown

I fear no monsters,

for no monsters I see.

Because all this time

the monster has been me.”

We all had that one dream.

The one where you can never run fast enough. Something is chasing you, always just a little faster than you. When you wake, your heart is pounding, and your hands are shaking. Then a wash of relief spreads over you at the realization that it wasn't real. It was all just a nightmare. The fragments of the dream that you do recall are now fading, soon to be forgotten entirely.

For Ripley, though, this is not the case. Whether awake or asleep, she's always running towards her family, the terror and urgency never fade for her. You have to give her credit; her mind lasts much longer than it would seem possible. Like a rubber band pulled too tight, one day her mind snapped.

A new medical procedure was supposed to help her find peace. So much hate, rage, and fear inside what would have been a kind person. The promised medical miracle had a flaw; the system was not capable of handling such a damaged mind. The AI's software was corrupted, and that hate and pain flowed through it to all those who would be connected to its neural network.

The scientists did not invent a cure for mental illness; they made it so it was contagious.

Vicki was able to discover Ripley's location. You are heading there now, not sure what you're going to do. Ripley has suffered greatly and she is a victim. To do nothing would mean the destruction of an entire species. The math seems to suggest that you should take a life to save millions of lives. You'll find math is cold and unfeeling. Can you live with killing the victim, to save the guilty?

Things will happen quickly for the Invictus crew. I would not take a breath of relief too quickly if I were you. The side effects of dealing with a tactically trained killer could leave your heads spinning. Sometimes the best-laid plans fall apart, and we are left having to pick ourselves up and start again.

Don't forget, E.L.A.R.A. (Empathic Link for Augmented Recovery & Assistance) will know what you've done.

Will your actions allow Patient Zero to finally find peace?

Without Ripley, will the others' soles, intertwined with ELARA, be free of their collective madness?

With Masie now in the mix, is the devil you know better than the devil you don't?

There is light at the end of this, and things to look forward to. If things go as the fates designed, there could be a triple wedding in the near future.
